I've not used the particular product you mentioned, but I have tried another "anti-freeze" product called Potassium Dextrose Lactose (KDL). The idea behind it sounds the same. Supposedly the product is absorbed in the cell wall and lowers the freezing point preventing cell rupture. As far as I could tell, it didn't make a difference. In fact it seemed to make things worse. After the cold spell passed, the potassium seemed to act like a foliar fertilizer (my theory anyway) and accelerate bud/flower development so that when the next cold snap threatened, the buds on the trees were more developed making them even more susc. to frost. Additionally, I think it's a bunch of hooey the product I used was actually capable of being absorbed in the cells under freezing conditions. It had to be applied w/in 48hrs. of an anticipated freeze incident. At that point it is already pretty cold. Since most plant processes shut down in such cold weather, I doubt the plant/tree has the ability to absorb and translocate the product where it's needed (that's another theory).
