After many years of using the <oa-'> command in ADB files, I finally got it
thru my head just *how* that command works. That command is *very*
convenient for copying into the current Record's Category Entry - the
contents of that Entry in the prior Record in the ADB file. But I had
experienced that sometimes it works, and sometimes it fails. Now I know
why.

When you limit the displayed Records, using either the <oa-F> (Find
Records) or the <oa-R> (Record Selection Rules), you may well display
certain Records that are scattered throughout the ADB file, with many
Records hidden - Records that are between the displayed Records.

When in the MRL (Multiple Record Layout), the <oa-'> command WORKS FINE.
You copy the Entry from the prior displayed Record to the current displayed
Record.

But In the SRL (Single Record Layout), the <oa-'> command may well FAIL by
copying the Entry from the prior *hidden* Record into the current displayed
Record.

So ...

when using the <oa-'> command after having limited the displayed Records
with <oa-F> or <oa-R>, you should first <oa-Z) (Zoom) into the MRL.

Of course, the Category whose Entry you desire to copy must exist in your
MRL Layout. If it does not, then you should change your MRL to include any
Categories that you may frequently wish to use with the <oa-'> command.
And, to save screen space in the MRL, you can limit that Category width to
just a few characters - the whole contents will copy, even if not displayed
complete in the MRL.
