Hi again.

Well, I know 6502, 8085/Z80, 8086 and 68k assemblers, and my impression is that, even
if 68k is the most complete of them, the simplicity of 6502 is ideal for starting.
And, in the Apple II, having such a good BASIC interpreter as the Applesoft, well, it
makes little sense to me to write all programs just in assembler. I write the main
program in BASIC, and then use some assembler code to optimize the critical sections.

I love the Mini-assembler burned in the ROMs of some Apple ][ models (the original ][,
the //e Enhanced, the //c revision 1 and up, and the //gs). Just enter the Monitor,
type "!" or "F666G" (depending on the model), and start entering assembly code on the
command line. I've also written a small assembler in Applesoft that takes a source
file and assembles it in memory, but I don't know where it is :-( . Anyway, it was
dawn slow, even for small programs.

Greetings,

Antonio Rodrguez (Grijan)
