You guys are out of my league on this Apple III. I have been on the Net checking out pictures and descriptions of the Apple III. Almost all descriptions, so far, are about the same. This one was built in 1983, so certainly it was one of the last ones made. I can't imagine a school using it at all. Probably they had some excess Federal moneys for computers and bought this one. It has two cards in it that say Profile I/O Apple III. It has two of them just alike with 8000 written one and 8 ... something else on the other.
After looking at the pictures, I think I have an original Apple Monochrome monitor in the garage as well as a external floppy drive. I think I have one or two disks around here that are Apple III as well. Never know what you will pick up at a school sale. I appreciate all of your input on the machine. It works; the red light comes on just like the Apple IIe when you turn it on. Also got a Commodore Plus/4, as well, which is new in the box, never used. Again, not very many schools went Commodore at all. As a rule, Apple IIes and TRS-80 Model IIIs ruled the good ol' days in computerdom.
