AFAIK, the Apple //e Enhanced model told "65C02" in the label over the power-on light.
In fact, I have on of these. If you remove that tag, the light bulb would be exposed,
so I think that you have an original Apple //e later
upgraded with the newer ROMs/processor.

There is a very fiable way of seeing if you have the newer ROMs. Drop into Applesoft
(boot the machine with the drives empty and then press Control-Reset), and then type
the following commands (without the "]"):

    ]PR#3
    ]POKE 1024,65

If you have the enhanced ROMs, an Apple logo will show in the upper-left corner of the
screen. If you have the older ROMs, you'll see a capital "A" in black over white
background.

Yes, it does exist, but as I said before, they ussually carried the word "65C02"
printer in the little piece of plastic over the power-on bulb, so it's probable that
you have an updated //e.

Lets see... The disk interface card ("Disk II") is ussually located at slot 6. A card
located one or two possitions to the left would be in slot 4 or 5. If it has a female
DB-9 connector (that may have you think it's a serial
card), I bet that it's a mouse interface card. Mouse cards are ussually placed in slot
4, but serial and parallel interfaces are almost allways placed in slots 1 or 2. I'd
go and get a mouse for the new baby. Any Macintosh
128/512/Plus mouse or AppleMouse II will work in it, and they show in eBay from time
to time. IT won't work in all apps as it does in the Macintosh, but it is cool and
some programs even have Mac-like interfaces :-) .
