In 1986 one of my friends had an Apple 2+ and an Acorn or something
running side by side, the clone running a BBS. He had a 100MB
filesystem - ~1000 floppies in a one square meter sized plywood box.
In 2002 he still had all those floppies.

In 1995 someone who was not part of the same early eighties scene as I
gave me a bunch of Apple disks. There were some versions of "William's
list" - basically the index of that plywood box. Also, a lot of the high
scores of the games on the disks I received had been set by people I had
known years earlier in a town 800 KM away.

  Geordie.
