I cannot suggest an assembler, but I am aware of several: Almost every discussion of assemblers I run into includes Merlin, so I assume it is a good one. :-) I think it is available for the 6502 and 65816. There are the S-C assemblers, which Paul Schlyters managed to get reclassified as shareware. It is a set of cross assemblers: 6502, 6809, 68000, Z80. Check his website: http://home.tiscali.se/pausch/apple2/dsk.html#SCASM There appears to be a lot of free documentation for these, which is always a good sign. Orca has assemblers for the 6502 and 65816. These are still being sold (at least they are as part of Opus ][). See the www.a2central.com store for details. The Ninja Force Assembler for the 65816. See the Ninja Force website for details: www.ninjaforce.com. I'm fairly certain Apple had a 6502 assembler (or branded one). There is the miniassembler in ROM, which is fine for small experiments -- and will bring you that much closer to the Woz experience. ;-) Byron. -- Apple2list is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and... / Buy books, CDs, videos, and more from Amazon.com \ / <http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/redirect-home/lowendmac> \ Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> Apple2list info: <http://lowendmac.com/lists/apple2.html> --> AOL users, remove "mailto:" Send list messages to: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For digest mode, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subscription questions: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/apple2list%40mail.maclaunch.com/> Using a Mac?
