Hi Toni, I'd say that the drives had the connectors plugged on incorrectly inside them. Let me check if I have 2 analog cards and if so, you can send me the drives and I will repair them and connect the cables correctly. Send me an email with a valid return address to

I did take care : not to plug in the connectors the wrong way, my son was there, too, : everything was as it should have been, but still we could clearly see : smoke emerging from the two disk drives, and the smell was quite : horrible. I am 99.9 per cent sure it wasn´t our fault. So, what next? : : This happened the day we got the machines, some time ago, and luckily : there was a third drive which is ok and still works even after having : been connected and disconnected several times now. : : Should we try the two drives again and see what happens? Can we damage : the machine by doing so? : : Alternatively, any hints on how to repair the drives?
