Rural Australians missing out on broadband
The digital divide appears to be growing, with less than a quarter of rural 
communities having access to high-speed internet, according to a recent report. 
A study by the Bureau of Rural Sciences, titled 2008 Country Matters: Social 
Atlas of Rural and Regional Australia, has found that only 24 per cent of 
remote communities have access to broadband, compared to 46 per cent of homes 
in major cities.
