IPv6 and Airline Tickets... Tales of Two Transitions
The internet bus continues to accelerate straight into the IPv4 address

remnants of the address space. Obviously all five Regional Internet Registries
(RIR's) want to make sure they get their fair share from IANA but what is a
fair share remains the subject of interpretation. In the mean time, scenarios
of a speculative land rush and auctions of ever smaller address blocks abound
with unattractive consequences such as an explosion of the size of the routing
table and a stunted growth of the global internet economy... In the meantime,
the airline industry completed a rather significant migration of their own.

Parking companies are handcuffed in many ways by their relationship with Google

parking pages. Parking companies, however, now appear to realize the necessity
of working with Google and Yahoo to develop options which allow a domain owner

conversations with parking companies at the recent T.R.A.F.F.I.C show that
keyword category and trademark exclusion will soon be available.

Demystifying Statistical Approach to Domain Name Appraisals
Professional domain name appraisals have acquired a dubious reputation, and I
understand the rational skepticism regarding their usefulness. In my recent
paper, "Statistical Domain Name Appraisal: Same as What You're Doing, +/-," I
try to demystify the statistical approach by pointing out its commonality with
methods intuitively adopted by active domainers. It will also underscore some
of the sources of skepticism toward various appraisal methodologies, and point
out the advantages and limitations of statistical models. The paper concludes
with a list of the conditions that can make a professional appraisal value
