For those of you who don't follow the ECL list, it sounds like ECL support
for Windows may be improving.

Also, there has been some recent discussion regarding ECL's CFFI support,
and ECL now has the option of building its ffi with libffi.

That said, I haven't tried these changes myself, and it's not clear that the
ffi has completely stabilized yet.
