Eh, I ended up fighting with gtk-- to get mouseovers to work on clickable links. "it can't possibly be that hard" -- famous last words. I've merged this branch with the current head, and I have the release notes open in an Emacs buffer right now with a start on the next entry, but I think I should get to sleep now instead of staying up trying to rush the release process.
