Package: aptitude-gtk
Version: 0.6.1.5-2
Severity: important

When run as root GUI-enabled aptitude crashes at startup most times. The error in the console is:

(aptitude:8458): libglade-WARNING **: could not look up stock id 'Purge'

(aptitude:8458): libglade-WARNING **: could not look up stock id 'Keep'

(aptitude:8458): libglade-WARNING **: could not look up stock id 'Hold'
[many lines like these]

Aborted

In the window I see the package update taking place, and then the "calculating upgrade" message, followed by this crash. Looks similar to 513337, but this only started happening a few days ago, so I guess they are unrelated.

Hello,

Thank you for your interest in improving Debian, and sorry to keep the
bug unattended for so long. There's now an effort to review the open
bugs related with aptitude and resume development.

I cannot reproduce the crashes, so I guess that they are not as
frequent now. The version against which this bug was reported still
used log4cxx, which was replaced since then (0.6.3-1) precisely
because it was causing many random crashes. It's also possible that
it's been fixed in the several upstreams versions since this bug was
reported, but not present in the changelog.

Either way, this problem, without backtrace or anything, doesn't
actually help to track the bug, so I'm closing it now.

Please reopen the bug with current information (and a backtrace if
possible) if you still experience random crashes with aptitude-gtk.

Regards.
