--- Begin Message ---Hi, This bug report was submitted many years ago and never handled. This does not seem to happen now as described in the bug report (at least in my system, with pretty much the stock configuration). It does not say explicitly that the package is not installed, but it's very clear that nothing was removed (so at least for me it is a clear clue that the package was in fact not installed), because there are no long messages occluding that in fact nothing was removed. apt-get mentions it explicitly, but also have more information printed and the first lines don't indicate "nothing was changed". So I think that it's better to close this bug report, and if anything, open a new one with the desired behaviour based on the current output. # aptitude remove love No packages will be installed, upgraded, or removed. 0 packages upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 18 not upgraded.
