Package: aptitude

Severity: normal

Is there any reason not to display the source for the package being
downloaded ? If for some reason the user is wondering whether the download
comes from the source he's expecting, he has to wait until the end of the
download to get confirmation.

Hi Yann,

2004-03-27 12:51 Yann Dirson:
Package: aptitude
Version: 0.2.14-3
Severity: normal

Is there any reason not to display the source for the package being
downloaded ? If for some reason the user is wondering whether the download
comes from the source he's expecting, he has to wait until the end of the
download to get confirmation.

[...]

I don't know exactly when this changed, but since long ago and by
default this is not the behaviour now, it seems.

First, there is the line of where it will get the package from, then a
temporary progress (cleaned when finished), then information about all
packages fetched and stats.

 $ aptitude download bsdgames
 Get: 1 http://ftp.uk.debian.org/debian/ unstable/main bsdgames amd64
2.17-22+b1 [916 kB]
 18% [1 bsdgames 164 kB/916 kB 18%]
 Fetched 916 kB in 8s (108 kB/s)

So I am closing the bug report now, since I think that your main request
was addressed. Please reopen if you still have concerns about this
issue.

Cheers.
