Hi!

This bug seems to be related with the recent change in the FTP adding
"metapackages", "introspection" and other sections.

Actually not, ftp-team changed they way package index files get created.
(A change with was activated on the main archive for quite some time
already and was now also activated for the security archive.)

The archive itself is already fixed, however aptitude shouldn't have
stumbled over it.

By modifying the package lists, I attempted to reproduce it (below).

aptitude was already checking for errors coming from libapt in the only
place that seems to call the method printing the "Reading package
lists...", but maybe not with such old versions as reported, or perhaps
libapt was not communicating correctly or causing the crash itself.

In any case, everything seems to work fine now, so closing the bug.
