Package: aptitude
Version: 0.2.13-1
Severity: normal
In contrast to apt, aptitude's update command overwrites newer
versions of Packages files if what comes down the http pipe is older.
I believe apt-get checks http headers...

Hi Dan,
2003-07-18 09:00 Dan Jacobson:
Package: aptitude
Version: 0.2.13-1
Severity: normal
In contrast to apt, aptitude's update command overwrites newer
versions of Packages files if what comes down the http pipe is older.
I believe apt-get checks http headers...
aptitude relies on (lib)apt for these operations, and I believe that it
always did, so it behaves exactly as apt in this case.
If there's still any problem with the behaviour nowadays, it should be
reported against apt, so closing this report now.
Cheers.
