Package: tasksel
Version: 2.15
Severity: minor

Currently the cache is always deleted as soon as aptitude finishes package
installation.
This is very not nice if the installation fails for some reason (or is
cancelled by the user) as packages will have very likely have to be
downloaded again, and again, ...

I suggest that the cache only be cleaned if there were no errors during
the installation.

Hi again,

2016-01-20 21:32 [email protected]:

5. after download error, click Continue
# sudo aptitude --visual-preview install rlwrap; echo $?
Press Return to continue.

0

So, apparently, there still is a bug in case 5.

(With 0.7.6) I get 255 now, when e.g. disconnecting the network before
proceeding with the installation, and pressing the Continue button when
the error is shown.

The code in the 0.7.x series changed in the last few months, specially
in the last release, and many error conditions are now properly reported
as errors. Reading the code this is the expected behaviour now, unless
APT::Get::Fix-Missing is enabled and the error can be recovered.

So I think that the problems reported are addressed now, closing.

Cheers and thanks for the help.
