Control: severity -1 wishlist

Hi,

2016-04-08 13:09 Vincent Lefevre:
Package: www.debian.org
Severity: normal

For option APT::AutoRemove::RecommendsImportant,

https://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/aptitude/ch02s05s05.en.html
contains:

 Description: If this option is true, then aptitude will not consider
 packages to be unused (and thus will not automatically remove them)
 as long as any installed package recommends them, even if
 APT::Install-Recommends is false. [...]

https://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/aptitude/ch02s05s05.fr.html
contains:

 false. [...]

i.e. the en version mentions APT::Install-Recommends while the fr
version mentions Aptitude::Recommends-Important.

https://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/aptitude/ch02s05s05.fr.html#configRecommends-Important

In other words, it's still supported and equivalent, but deprecated.

2016-04-08 19:56 Axel Beckert:

IIRC the French translation is only at the state of Aptitude 0.7.1
currently, i.e. could use an overhaul by some native French speaker.

This is indeed the main problem, although it goes much further back than
that, I had to put some screenshots in english because the french ones
were missing at least since 2012.

So if this doesn't improve and nobody steps in, at some point maybe the
only solution is to remove the french documentation package.

Cheers.
