this is expected if any other package Recommends or Suggests hdparm.
So please tell us: Do you have any of these packages installed on this
system? education-common, hibernate, laptop-mode-tools,
ocsinventory-agent, pm-utils, sitesummary-client, munin-node, or
plainbox-provider-checkbox? Especially the powermanagement related
packages are quite common on laptops.
If so, this is clearly yet another duplicate of your bug reports
#822582 and #840902 which are both marked as wontfix.
