No, I don't understand your error report here. The string
AC_PROG_LIBTOOL is an autoconf macro that is supposed to be added to
configure.ac, a file which exists only once at the top-level directory.
This string is not supposed to be written into any Makefile.am or any
other file except configure.ac. Why do you think it should be written
into some Makefile.am? Please give a much more detailed error report here.
