Just speaking as a user, in case you haven't seen the wiki yet, for "BW-Bank" at
http://linuxwiki.de/OpenHBCI/GetesteteBanken there is the comment:
"funktioniert (HBCI-Version 2.20, muss manuell gesetzt werden)" 
whatever that means practically ...

It might be helpful for others who perhaps can tell you more that you post
the version of the aqbanking (library) that you are using, maybe
(just a guess) different versions of the library default to
different HBCI versions.
