Strangely enough, those files _are_ in /sw/share/aclocal. I'll double check the rest of my environment, but I'm pretty sure I had ACLOCAL_FLAGS=-I /sw/share/aclocal in my base environment. (I've rebooted back into os x 10.5, so it'll be a bit before I'll get back to 10.4). Thanks for the help.
