Ich hatte ähnliche Probleme mit einem alten Cyberjack pinpad -- offenbar arbeiten die neuen, außerhalb des Kernels angesiedelten Treiber nur mit neueren Cyberjacks. Die Lösung war bei mir, das Kernel-Modul cyberjack zu laden (das musst du ggf. noch selbst übersetzen, wenn es bei Deinem Kernel nicht dabei ist). Libchipcard sollte das geladene Modul erkennen und arbeitet dann damit.
