The problem is, that each distribution uses slightly different
filenames at least for login script, only constant filename is
/etc/ppp/options. Name for script can /etc/ppp/chat-script or so.
So Arachne should in fact create its own ppp configuration files and
call "pppd" and "chat" utilities on its own, without affecting main ppp
configuration. Of course, people who already use ppp and don't want to
use Arachne's automation will be able to use "Connection READY" like
in DOS - I think there will be no difference between Connection NUL and
Connection READY in Linux, because at least loopback interface is always
present, and Linux socket interface doesn't need any special
initialization which can fail if "no packet driver is loaded", because
all TCP/IP stuff is in Linux kernel...
So it would help if someone can send me scripts which fuly handle
connecting and disconnecting from net, and which don't interfere with
files in /etc/ppp - I know that both pppd and chat accept command line
parameters which override configuration file options...
