I have commented before to Michael, about problems that
Arachne seems to have, at > 9600 bps, with handling data
packets from my ISP's web pages (the responses from my
ISP in this case appear to be too quick for Arachne, at
higher baud rates) ...
Well, it seems the "crash when accessing any 'shtml' page
from my ISP" problem/bug is related!
How have I come to this conclusion ???
Well, I decided to connect to my ISP via a GSM modem,
instead of one of my PSTN modems (there is a significant
delay of data when you use a GSM modem, compared to
a PSTN modem). And guess what? - I could access any
of my ISP's 'shtml' pages, without crashing Arachne!
As I have also commented to Michael, the above problem
does not affect DR-Webspyder 2.00A or M$W3.11+IE3.03,
on the same PC's (486's with 16550) and using the same
PSTN modems ...
Best regards,
Joe.
PS. Michael - I'm not sure if I should post this sort of
message to the list ... or send it to 'xchaos' ... ?
