Well, it's good that someone has decided to do this - a nice new, memory efficient, "ppp" packet driver for DOS. :-) Unfortunately, this is an early (alpha) release and has a number of problems and limitations, so it's not suitable for distribution with Arachne yet ... :-( I plan to contact the author as soon as I have some time, to give him some feedback on the problems ... Speaking of problems, can anyone use Arachne to log-in to "www.mailcity.com" or "comm.lycos.com" ? I'm sure this used to work once, but now I can't get anything except a blank screen (1.66 and 1.67). :-( Regards, Joe. > -----Original Message----- > From: Michael Polak [SMTP:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > Sent: Friday, 24 November 2000 0:16 > To: Wrm; [EMAIL PROTECTED]; [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: Re: MORE MEM FOR ARACHNE!!! :) > > Wr(rm wrote: > > > http://members.tripod.com/~ladsoft/lsppp > > > > looks like you may be able to replace epppd.exe soon > > -> lsppp.exe takes up only 20k of memory and is > > written in assembly ;) > > > > I suggest working with it for awhile so you can > > replace epppd.exe when I think that lsppp.exe is good > > enough. > > > Thanks, I am going to test it and ask author for permission > to include it in Arachne package.... > > It is good that I can forget about new version of EPPPD, one or two > kb smaller, of course only if lsppp works.
