Regarding a recent note about SMTPOP.
I had been using SMPTPOP12 for a while, and that worked fine for getting
my mail, but never worked for posting mail. The syntax is different
from that given in the message just posted.
What version is this referring to? Is there a new version?
The version I've used involved an 'account' datafile, and required at
least one parameter like -b. It did NOT work in the form given in the
posting i.e. SMTPOP account@isp password.
I would still like a version of SMTPOP that works in both directions for
my own Mail/News program.
Ditto re News. I still use the GETNEWS program by Martin G. That
works fine for getting news. His POSTNEWS does not work for me, I get
a complaing regarding a missing 'From:' item, regardless of how I try to
present a complete posting. Anyone any thoughts on that?
