Mark, and anyone else trying to figure out what's up with Arachne mail
and blank screens and lockups and drive A:
Michael added, at the request of a current user, the ability to download
mail to, and upload mail from, a diskette in Drive A: Only problem is
that when off-line that option was made the default.
This can quickly and easily be fixed. Go to file MIME.CFG Check out
lines 88 & 89; they should show external/smtp & external/pop3 .
"Comment out" those two lines by placing a semi-colon ; in front of
each of the two lines. That should clear up the problem for most. If
you're not sure this could be causing a problem on your system, dial in
and *then* try going to inbox and outbox/send mail. If it works on
line, making the change above will fix it to work off-line.
Mark -- I suggest you drop the SET ARACHNETEMP from your autoexec so an
environmental variable isn't fighting with variable in the program.
Also suggest you place a subdirectory in your S: drive, and change your
arachne.cfg for "download" to S:[subdirectory name] so that you won't be
limited in the number of files that can be saved.
