I discovered that after a little web surfing, if I stop and check
my e-mail, then the Dos memory (KB) returns to the top figure.
You might post your mem.txt generated while connected, to see if
we can make some suggestions to improve your available (for arachne)
conventional memory.
For instance, I have a cdrom drive on this box, but rarely use it,
so I just REM out the cdrom lines in config.sys and autoexec.bat
until I find I need it, then I "unrem" them, and reboot to get
the use of the drive restored.
Also, I use Interlnk-Intersvr a lot, and have to end that on the
server machine and reboot on this "client" machine to get that
out of my conventional memory "plateful" if I am going to use
Arachne. That increases my Dos memory (KB) from 122 to 148.
