Mark.....at bootup, you get the screen with AMI BIOS....AWARD Bios...
Pheonix Bios.....etc.....and right below that you see your memory
test utility counting over until it checks your memory.....this is
all part of your POST (Power ON System Test, or Power ON Self Test).

....right below that is a line that reads "hit (DEL) to run Setup"
or something like that.....you do what it says, and you are put into
the opening screen of your CMOS Setup utility....it is usually a
!!WARNING!! screen....you <ENTER> to go to the next screen, which
should be a menu of the various CMOS Setup sections...you move the
highlignted selector bar up and down with the arrow keys, and then
<ENTER> to select the one that you want to het into......

NOTE...!!!!...the WARNING screen wasn't just there for fun, or a joke...
you need to LOOK through this thing several times, BEFORE you make any
changes....get familiar with it before tweaking.....AND....READ THE
SCREENS.....!!!..BEFORE...!!! you make a move on that screen....pay
attention to what is down on the bottom, etc...and ....do not panic...
NEVER...make a move without STOP, READ, PONDER....your machine will
not fly away while you use your head...

...then...probably on the first page or "Advanced CMOS Setup" page,
you will find the toggle for anti-virus ON/OFF....think about it a
while before you activate it....<g g g>

........gregy
