I have uploaded to Simtel.Net:

http://www.simtel.net/pub/simtelnet/msdos/fileutil/f-id24.zip
ftp://ftp.simtel.net/pub/simtelnet/msdos/fileutil/f-id24.zip 93630 bytes

f-id24.zip File Identifier: Recognizes files by contents

File Identifier v2.4 recognizes files by reading their contents. For
most formats extra information will be shown, depending on the selected
verbosity level. The output is shown in different customizable colors
for each file type. FileID can recurse into subdirectories and display
a summary for the processed files at the end.

It is possible to show Windows 95 long filenames or 4DOS/NDOS
descriptions instead of file types. Output can be sent to the standard
output device, thus making it available for redirection or piping.
Wrong extensions can be corrected and null-byte files can be removed
automatically. An error level is returned indicating the last
recognized file format.

System requirements: 80286+.

Changes: Bugs fixed, file types added, extra options.

f-id24.zip has replaced f-id22.zip.

Freeware. Uploaded by the author.
