Glad you got Pegasus. It comes with a POP/SMTP transport program, but
Arachne is superior in that regard. I use Arachne for mail transport,
mainly using the Arachne .asf script file, modified to return me to
my custom ppp_init.htm page (the dialer page), instead of to the
inbox. Then after retrieving my mail, I launch Pegasus from a button
on the dialer page, read, reply, and write new mail, then when I exit
Pegasus I am returned to the Arachne dial page where I (usually) get
any new mail and send my replies or new mail. Pegasus is compatible
as is with Arachne's incoming mail (XXXXXXXX.cnm) format. It does,
however need to be configured to make it's outgoing mail compatible
with Arachne's (XXXXXXX.tbs) format. You do this by creating a custom
"gateway" that controls how Pegasus constructs the mail headers and
message format of the mail you write. It is not difficult, but it
must be done right or your outgoing mail will not be uploaded to your
SMTP server. Without being in the least critical of Insight, you will
find Pegasus superior for handling a high volume of email, with many
features (filters, for instance) that I don't even use. When you are
ready to try it there are several Arachne users who can help you,
myself included. Meanwhile, enjoy Arachne/Insight.
