Hi Michael;
If your disk cache is big enough, all disks should be like ramdisk to first
order. What you are seeing is probably not a DOS effect, more a "C" effect.
We had commented last year and sent you many activity reports showing
literally THOUSANDS of unnecessary disk accesses. If I recall, they
were closing files and releasing non existent handles.
This action is probably occurring on all the drives in your path until
you reach the file you are REALLY trying to access or close.
If C: is first in the path then you will find it first.
Try reversing the C: and E: in your path and do it again.
If this helps we can try to eliminate all those unsuccessful and therefore
useless DOS calls.
