Clarence,
I put 1.60 stable on several computers and all connected just fine
with the epppd.exe 49258 bytes, 9/19/1997. I notice that 1.60 b1 on
this computer has epppd.exe 49258 9/19/1997, the same.
I have Lynx386, and Bobcat, and both of them have epppd.exe 45638
9/20/97. I also use epppdd.exe 57424 5/1/97 with Bobcat and Lynx
on some computers, and with my Netdial 1.3 - Arachne 1.60 combo on
my Compaq 575. epppdd always works, but it is bigger. Can't use it
with Arachne without the Netdial setup.
I never seem to have any trouble connecting to my paid ISP's. Right
now, I am getting Freewwweb to work, and am making progress, but
a lot of that is unexplained luck, or changes they make on their
end that I have no knowledge of.
Freewwweb always connects with the MSIE dialer and stack for WIN 3.1,
and also has a good success record with my Quarterdeck WIN 3.1
dialer. Arachne is running 100% connects using autologin on
Freewwweb right now, only problem areas are Bobcat and Lynx connects.
Could be related to the epppd version I am using there. Might
switch to Arachne's epppd.exe and see what happens.
