I created an empty new directory for Arachne 1.61. I unzipped the zip archive and ran the "setup" pgm. At the end of that, I pressed "I" for inbox and saw: Cannot create index file :\$IDX$cnm.IDX This is the same msg I saw with 1.60 Stable and 1.60 beta 2 (but NOT 1.60 beta 1). Tried changing my TEMP dir from F:\TEMP (Novell network drive) to C:\TEMP (local drive). Didn't help. Something that worked right in 1.60 beta 1 apparently broke in later releases. Suggestion: There has NEVER been any problem displaying the indexes of MES, TBS, or SNT. Only the CNM causes problems. That's because you are trying to put the index somewhere else. I recommend that you put the index of CNM's into the same dir where the files are, just as you do with the other 3 mail types.
