Tried it. Looks OK in NS too !

Hello Michael, All;
Michael, I can't see how you can release the stable 1.60 version tomorrow.
There's just TOO much testing to do and there IS some fixing required.

Here's what I'm sure of so far:

The keyboard interface now works without a mouse driver loaded. Thanks !!

The problem observed with egghead.com while using VGA 640x480x16 is
definitely fixed. (It used to paint over the upper and lower status lines)

The cut and paste in the mail compose window seems to work perfectly.
I didn't try typing inside a marked block however. I REALLY like the
use of the standard Wordstar functions. The use of cntrlY to YANK a
block is a MAJOR improvement over deleting line by line.
Even tho the instructions say cntrlR is read block and cntrlW is write
block I automatically used cntrlKcntrlR and cntrlKcntrlW and it worked
perfectly. :-))

Fullscreen mode STICKS as long as you don't exit. I LOVE IT !!
The popup URL box on F3 in fullscreen mode. I LOVE IT !!
Initial cursor focus on TEXTAREA in edit and compose mail. I LOVE IT !!

REQUIRED FIXES (so far):

HOTLIST MANAGER:
Doesn't work.

ICONS:
There have been several mentions of the fact that the icons cannot be
turned off in directory listings. Michael, the most important piece of
information you can take from that is we don't like icons !!

However, the icons CAN be turned off if you manually edit arachne.cfg to
ADD these lines to your old .cfg if that's what you are using (like me):
FILEargs -L
JPEGargs -bmp
and you can leave the following in, if you want to use the .cfg with an
older version (for a while):
LocalIcons No
FastJPEGs No

Here's an important point, I think, Michael. Keywords.txt says:
"FILEargs" -d|-l (Icons for directory listings, for WWWMAN.EXE)

What the heck is that supposed to mean ? -d is what ? -1 is what ?
The only thing that might make sense is if -I meant use Icons .

And WHY use a lowercase letter ? Is that -1 or -I or -| or -l ?????
In some fonts they all look the same.
Uppercase doesn't look the same in any font.

MAIL FOLDERS:
When I tested the mail setup, the MOVE button gave me a pretty ugly looking
thingy that had none of my old directories (folders to you Windows types).
Is this me ? Or did you ship it without your usual directories ?

VIDEO SETUP:
I did NOT use the wizard.

I know you refuse to believe it, but video setup is still seriously screwed.
Point #1. If I type setup (without any .pck in the directory) and then
select XMS followed by VGA, setup starts a nonstandard VGA graphics mode
which tries to burn out my monitor. The scan frequency is WAY off.

If I use my OLD .pck from version 1.50b2, it works fine.
In that .pck I have selected VGA 640x480x16.

Second point in video setup: If you type setup and then decide you want to
get out, there is STILL no way out. ESC doesn't work, CntrlC doesn't work.
AltX doesn't work. "X" doesn't work. Cntrl break doesn't work. I forgot to
try "Q". :(

MAJOR COMPLAINTS: (From my viewpoint)
There is some VERY annoying stuff hardcoded in Insight:
Why can't we check the REPLY TO box and make it stick ?
The next time I use it, Mailman generates a NEW one with FROM selected.

The directory sort built into Insight destroys my ordered directory
structure. Why would one want to have a separate button for ARCHIVE
and also want that word to be the default first on the folder list ?
If it didn't sort the folders, then I could have an entirely random
name as the first on the list.

I use the old dialpage and a lot of other old pages. As L.D. has pointed
out, the new font is too tall and skinny. It makes my buttons look too
big and clunky. Can we use the old fonts ??
We all have them I'm sure.

Oh yes, I almost forgot.
You have fixed the status line so it is not so crowded in 640x480 but at
least _I_ think the load time display is best left on the altM popup alone.
It makes the status line too busy looking.

IMHO.
