I hope that 1.61 doesn't have the annoying habit of losing the cursor,
when you try to tab field to field in mail editor, like 6b2 does.
On to the problem I've discovered.
How do you change profiles? Well, if you're off-line you can click on
those two little happy faces. If you're on-line you can go to Dial page
and select the ACF button and make your choice.
If you're on a telephone hook-up that is.
When on LAN TCP/IP attempting to reach [D]ail page ends up with "unknown
protocol" error. And since that config means you're always "on line"
you can't find those little smiling faces.
Since my son & I both use cable, but different POP3 username & password,
trying to get to his configuration was proving impossible. I ended up
rewriting the autoexec file for this cable configuration -- using a
handly little program called Task.com I've used for years -- and put in
a decision point in autoexec. If you want my son's configuration, you
have to enter Y at the correct point. If you enter N, or don't enter
anything [timeout period can be set for 5 seconds or longer] it defaults
to my configuration. And then I wrote an addition batch file so that
his ACF file is copied to arachne.cfg before Arachne starts.
Yes, later when I was trying to edit my main ACF file in Arachne, I
discovered I can't edit ACF files [at least not on-line] ... instead
once selected they are run. But that's a long way to go to change
profiles.
If I pull an RTFM, is there a chance I can put the off-line profile
stuff on my personal "on-line" toolbar? I've never messed with toolbars
so ...
