Hi Glenn,
Try as I may, I CANNOT get the thing to use Arachne. I have spid.ico in the
arachne directory, and double click on arcahne box on my desktop goes
straight to the Arachne Dial page ok, click on dial now or go Alt D and the
crossbones appears saying the usual! PPP link down message.
Automodem detect says there is a modem on COM3, IRQ4 and IRQ5, but also says
there's one on COM4 IRQ's 5,3,7 and 7 again. I've tried edit on arachne.cfg
to use all possible combinations of COM3, IRQ4 and ATZ, AT&F and so on, all
with no results.
I can get terminal to show me what's happening, but the best I can do is get
as far as
Error in Initialization response.
The modem just does NOT want to respond. Tjhis is driving me crazy, I SO
want to get back to Arachne and avoid the hassles of M$ Outlook Express and
so on.
