Perhaps you might expand on that. DOS isn't limited to 640Kb either.
DOS *DOES* seem to have a 1Mb limit - but the 640Kb is a problem with
the original stupid hardware design.
I HAVE experienced a problem with DOS 5.0 for HP Vectra not letting me
use more than 640Kb but I really think the source was the dumb HP bios.
It refused to believe I wasn't using the standard VGA. :((
If it was just a matter of mapping the interfering hardware to a more
logical area, it could have been (and would have been) done with DOS.
