First of all ... this was meant to go by EMail, and only landed here by

It was a silly joke, because I thought (and still think) that the suicide
letter was a very silly joke.
If I would want to kill myself, I would kill myself, and NOT send a message
to a Mailinglist.
(Many people do so the get help, but this is not the righ place, because
nobody knows that person, and nobody knows how to contact him in 'real
life').

You are right. (EU and US have huge amounts of food stored, in order to
keep the prices stable ...)
BUT don't forget, that the growth rate in the '3. world countries' is
phenomenal.
(China has long left the 1000.000.000 people mark, India did so some days
ago ...)
The social situation there is devastating ....
so the people have many children, which will support them, when they get
old ....
So it depends how you definde forseeable future.
(When this trend is not stopped, than we are in big trouble !!)

No ... room is less of a problem.
It's food and water.
(and the amount of 'good' places to grow food is also getting smaller.
We are polluting our environment (Bopal catastrophy ...) the deserts are
growing, and so destroying 'good' land ....)
As I already pointed out, we don't have a huge problem, yet ...
But if nothing changes we WILL have one soon.
(soon in the large scale of 25-50 years)
