Dear Reuben:

Finally, one from my neck of the woods after all! I almost thought I had fallen
off the end of the world, to use an analogy. I had a similiar problem with my
install of Arachne and I have a similiar hardware setup. I dunno. Things
could be specific to your hardware. Why though did you select the fastpc.acf
module? I found that after the
automatic setup detecter identified my machine as one that could use the
386pc.acf that I got better results with just using the "ppp.acf" and manually
editing it.

Not sure if this helps a lot, but I think you should use the built-in Options
{press O}
and change to the ppp.acf, then go back and carefully check EVERYTHING in the
"mail" section
of Arachne.cfg and remember to put YES in front of the POP3.log= further down
so you can look
at it in case you have to call your ISP. This should "help you hit your POP" as
the saying goes.
After you do this, remember to backup the arachne.cfg and any related files
before you change
protocol or edit anything again. First work on the mail connection. Surf's up
later. If you find this
helpful, e-mail me back and let me know how it goes.

Yours Sincerely,

Thomas/Tom
