Hi all, This has been a big topic of discussion on the Freenet list I am on for the last couple of days. I will try to summarize what is believed to have happened and then give some brief news on what is happening now. It is believed that Sisna pulled out on 1nol sometime last week. 1nol went down about Thursday or Friday of last week and there was a note put on their website about updating the networks or something. They returned on Saturday or Sunday I believe it was, but they added the humoungous software which is just a dialer and yes is for Win9X. You also must reregister if you were registered before. The theory here is that Sisna took the user database with them. Also, as Dale mentioned, a bunch of dialup numbers have been deleted. (I am going to check in a matter of seconds if mine is still there.) There was some mention that they are looking at Hispanic users more than anything, so if you live in a big Hispanic area, you probably will have more luck with your number. I just checked out their site and there is a pop-up window showing their "improvements" I will cut and past it at the end of this message. I am in the process of reregistering (I just saw my local number is gone as well.). Anyway, it was reported on the Freenet list that if that you can connect using the following user info: Username: user@1nol (use your username for user) Password: yourpassword with xms added to the end. (So if your password is chucky, you would enter chuckyxms.) It's not known at this time if this will work for all time or if it will be changed or what, so be advised. Here is the pop-up window as promised: Attention All Users! In our rush to bring you the best in FREE Internet service, it was necessary to transform our network. The process of the transformation was completed May 27th, 2000 - 16:00 hours eastern standard time.
