Hello, fellows Arachnoids!

My friend asked me to install a new external modem for her W98 comp.
The modem is Rockwell Fax/Data+Voice 56 ACF V1456VQE as written on its
face. She hasn't detailed manual describing the command set and/or floppy
with installing software it was a gift as is. W98 detects this modem and
sets it for UK region (?). I enter into Modem config settings and turn on
pulse dialing mode that is used in my region but the modem doesn't
assimilate this command in spite of pulse dialing box remains checked.
I tried to change the region settings but W98 offers the tone countries
only and holds pulse countries not available :-{.

Then I tried to set pulse dialing manually by direct terminal mode.
I was able to see the active modem profile by AT&V command and when I
give ATP command I can see P instead of T in the active profile but if
I enter the next command ATD or ATDP + [phone number] the modem makes
tone dialing as before. I view the active profile and what I see, I see
T in the profile again %-{{.

Does anybody know is it a "too clever" Win98 problem or modem problem.
I'll be very grateful for command set information for this modem.

Thanks in advance,

Sergei.
