IIRC, +++ is the Hayes command for ESC
ATZ, as L.D. stated, is the Hayes command to reset to factory defaults.
ATH, or ATH0, as Clarence said, is for Hangup, as is <ALT-H>.
ATF0, ATF1, ATF2 load stored profiles 0, 1, and 2, respectively.
AT just checks the modem, and if it is present/on, returns "OK" although some
return "ok", "O.K." or "o.k."

modem disconnect me. <BG>
IIRC, on many modems ATZ sets modem back to 'factory default' settings.
If that is the case, and if someone has to use a special modem setup
because of dirty phone lines or whatever, sending ATZ would defeat all
the work they did figuring out the modem configuration in the first
place. So that seems like a good enough reason to me to send
triple-plus rather than ATZ.
