Yes it looks like martha 1.7 can't open a file unless it's on the same
drive (perhaps you can fix this Yves?).
I actually never tried the %temp% variant since I assumed it would work. If
I had tried I would have noticed it since my temp is on C: and Arachne is
on D: (among many other drives <g>).

Nope, Arachne is innocent. I tried outside of Arachne, and besides we only
have the problem of setting new things to the environment with Arachne (as
explained by Clarence) - not reading the old things.
