Correct.
If you need to get them onto floppies do (after putting them all in one
directory):
rar a newfile.rar *.* -m5 -s -v1440
(add -md1024 if you have rar32)
And then copy all the newfile.* to floppies. Of course this will require
much more space (but so did Clarence idea of ZIPing them).
