Hi Bernie;
I did the initial test just to see how much difference it made. I was
about 1/2 way down the list when I mistakenly unsubscribed the wrong
address and had to re-subscribe. It does make a significant difference
to me. When I'm in my office, I check the list fairly frequently and
respond promptly when I have some noise to add. <g>
If you only check the list once a day, or are on the digest, then you are
correct. It's unnecessary to have a quick turn around.
But it's still interesting to know that the Arachne server takes about
6 seconds to serve each subscriber in sequence. It seems that there MUST
be a more efficient way to do it. It doesn't take ME twice as long to
send mail with a "CC" as without.
