Have to disagree here ...

I have fixed IP.  I do not use pppdrc.cfg because I'm on LAN.

The DNS addresses are "hardwired" into Arachne.cfg.

When DNS #1 went down, Arachne [and wattcp ??] could not or would not
even attempt to use DNS #2
