More DNS woe

My ISP's primary DNS just went down, and Arachne displayed
this rather funny status message when trying to download
mail:

  "Asking domain name server for 203.130.252.40"
                                 ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
If the address assigned to POP3server already an IP number,
shouldn't Arachne directly connect to it instead of asking
to the DNS?  What she trying to ask?  That 203.130.252.40
is *really* pop3.telkom.net? ;-)
